How to configure Zoho Mail as SMTP on WordPress with WPMasterToolKit 

Introduction

Sending emails from WordPress can sometimes be a real headache. Whether it's for form notifications, registration confirmations or password resets, it's essential that your messages arrive safely in your users' inboxes.

By default, WordPress uses the PHP function mail()which is not always reliable and can easily be blocked by some hosts. To guarantee optimum deliverability, the use of an SMTP service is strongly recommended.

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to configure Zoho Mail as an SMTP server on your WordPress site using the WPMasterToolKitin order to secure the sending of your e-mails and improve their reliability.

What is Zoho?

Zoho develops software for businesses and offers a variety of services, including e-mail hosting via Zoho Mail.

E-mail providers check authentication before deciding whether your messages should be delivered to recipients' inboxes. Visit Zoho mailer from WPMasterToolKit improves deliverability by authenticating your e-mails. Specifically, it lets you use your Zoho e-mail address as the sender for all e-mails sent from your WordPress site.

Create your Zoho Mail account

To follow this tutorial, you need an e-mail address Zoho Mail.

It is important to note that the e-mail address you configure in Zoho will be used as the From Email for all e-mails sent from your WordPress site. If you don't want to use your Zoho address, you can check out other mailer options available in WPMasterToolKit.

What's more, Zoho Mail does not support dynamic reply-to addresses.. For more details, see the FAQ section below.

If you already have a Zoho account, simply log in. Alternatively, you can create a new Zoho account, either staff or professional.

Configure WPMasterToolKit

If you haven't already done so, start by install and activate the WPMasterToolKit plugin.

Once the plugin is installed, go to WPMasterToolKit " Settingsthen select the General.

Then scroll down the page to the Primary Connection.

In the following sections, we'll go into more detail about each of the parameters available on this page.

From Email

Top of the page Settingsyou will see an option From Email. You can skip this step, because Zoho force From Email to match your account's email addresswhich you'll connect later in this tutorial.

Once you've logged in, you'll notice that this field and the Force From Email will both be disabled.

By default, the From Name is the name of your site. You can, however, modify it and enter the text of your choice. Just bear in mind that this name will appear in all e-mails sent from your site.

Confirm account.

Click on Mailto start configuring your company messaging system.

To strengthen the security of your Zoho account, you should link and verify your cell phone number.

This number will be used to protect your access (verification codes, account recovery, secure connections).

Click on Send Code

You will receive a SMS code to confirm that the number belongs to you

👉 Once the code has been validated, your Zoho account will be properly secured and you can continue with the configuration.

At this stage, you will create your Zoho Mail e-mail address.
Two options are available, and here we use the ZohoMail address.

It's a ready-to-use address, ideal for getting started quickly without using a domain name.

Select Create personal email account enter your username (this will be the beginning of your e-mail address), Click on Create

Zoho will automatically create your mailbox as follows: votre_nom@zohomail.com

👉 You can then access your mailbox, send and receive e-mails, and connect this address to other Zoho tools (CRM, Desk, etc.).

Access your Zoho API credentials

In a new browser tab or window, log in to your Zoho account. Then go to the Zoho API console.

If you are accessing the API for the first time, click on the Get Started for starters.

If you have already created an application with Zoho, click on the + Add Clientlocated in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

This action will open the Customer Type from Zoho. For this configuration, select Server-Based Applications.

A list of parameters will then appear, including :

  • Customer Name You can choose the name of your choice to differentiate your applications (in most cases, it's the name of your website).
  • Homepage URL This is the URL of your site (for example : https://example.com).
  • Authorized Redirect URIs You must copy this value from the Redirect URI in the WPMasterToolKit settings you left open earlier.

You will then be redirected to a page displaying your values. Customer ID and Customer Secret .

Copy these two values into WPMasterToolKit's settings. Be sure to paste Customer ID and Customer Secret each in the corresponding field.

Configure WPMasterToolKit settings

Once you have configured your account Zoho completed, you need to finalize the integration between Zoho Mail and WPMasterToolKit.

In the WPMasterToolKitsection, complete the remaining information in the Zoho Mail.

Region

Zoho has several data centers distributed by region to store your information as close as possible to your location. When you create your account Zohoa data center is automatically selected according to your needs. IP address (you also had the option of modifying the region manually if necessary).

Zoho has data centers in the following regions:

  • US United States (zoho.com)
  • EU European Union (zoho.eu)

If you don't know which data center is associated with your account, log in to your Zoho account and click on your avatar in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

A side panel will open, displaying various information about your account, including the location of your data center.

In the WPMasterToolKitselect the region corresponding to the data center from the drop-down list Zoho used by your account.

Authorization

Once all the above settings have been completed, click on the Save Settings.

A new button entitled Confirm Authorization will appear. Click on it to authorize WPMasterToolKit to access your account Zoho.

At this stage, Zoho asks you to authorize the application WPMTK access your mailbox Zoho Mail.

This authorization is necessary to enable the connection and smooth operation between your WordPress site and your account. Zoho.

You will then be redirected to the settings for WPMasterToolKit. At the top of this page, a confirmation message will appear to indicate that your site has been connected to your account. Zoho Mail.

Send a test e-mail
